Artists Open Houses Festival in Brighton

The Artists Open Houses Festival in Brighton, a spectacular experience for four weekends in May during the three-week Brighton Festival and Brighton Festival Fringe, allows visitors to go directly to artists’ homes or studios or gardens to see, appreciate and buy spectacular artwork and gift ware crafts. Stroll among paintings, sculptures, ceramics, glass items, jewelry, textiles, furniture and furnishings and get a feel as to how they would appear in your own home. Over 1,000 artists and craftspeople exhibit their work in this largest free visual art event in the United Kingdom, which has been in existence for close to 30 years. Many exhibitions are within walking distance of each other, and some even offer you tea and homemade cake!

World Shakespeare Festival in Newcastle and Gateshead

The World Shakespeare Festival in Newcastle and Gateshead in June and July 2012 is part of a phenomenal collaboration between United Kingdom and international arts organizations as they celebrate William Shakespeare as the world’s playwright. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, this fantastic entire event runs from the 23rd of April to November 2012 and includes thousands of artists from countries throughout the globe who perform close to 70 productions. The World Shakespeare Festival is also a part of the London 2012 Festival, which celebrates the Cultural Olympiad culmination.

West Cumberland Choral Society at the Rosehill Theatre

The Rosehill Theatre is happy to announce that the West Cumberland Choral Society will present its delightful program on Friday, the 15th of June, 2012. The music will include new folk songs by Hugh Turpin as well as works by Jenkins, Bob Chilcott and Rutter. Enjoy this event in one of the most intimate theatres in the UK, which has maintained its character as a “rose-red silk-lined jewel box” since it opened in 1959.
