PRLog (Press Release) – Mar 28, 2012 -
On April 28, 2012 UniteWomen.org will hold rallies in capital cities across the United States in unified protest of the War on Women’s Rights.
From the founder of UniteWomen.org, Karen Teegarden:
“All across the country, through legislative proposals, government regulations, and political rhetoric, war is being waged upon women, their bodies, their private interests, and their right to self-determination. This is occurring without, and in spite of, the participation of the same women being affected by these actions, and whose futures, and those of their families, are being unilaterally determined.
Our organization is determined to see that this race to the bottom does not claim the rights and liberties of over one half of the populace. We will not suffer the burdens of those whose ambitions would be fulfilled by the destruction of the human worth of the mothers, sisters and daughters of this great nation. “
On April 28th, Unite Women Virginia will be joining with the sister chapters in our own Rally for Women’s Rights at Nina F. Abady Festival Park in downtown Richmond from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Our Guest Speakers will include Delegates Kaye Kory a (38th Dist.) and Charniele Herring (46th Dist.). Women’s Strikeforce PAC founder and former Virginia delegate, Robin Abbott will speak along with Strikeforce Sponsor and former delegate, Katherine Waddell. Victoria Bragunier, President of the Richmond Chapter of the National Organization of Women, Caroline O’Shea of NARAL-Pro-Choice VA, Carolina Velez, a Domestic Violence Advocate with Safe Harbor, and Elizabeth Wong of ACLU-VA will also be speaking at the rally.
We would like to extend an invitation to all members of the print and electronic media to attend our event.
